RE: Tell me about tailgating

We have season tickets to the San Francisco 49ers and tailgate with our motorhome every game. The parking at Candelstick Park for MH is $40, cars are $25. We had a great time at the 49ers game vs. the Lions. We arrived with our TT Saturday night and stayed at the Candlestick RV Park. Ate a nice brunch and then walked over to the stadium for the game. After the game, we went back to the TT and watched the post game show with some snacks. We left a little after 5:00 PM and there wasn't any traffic. We want to do it again sometime. This past weekend, we tailgated across the street @ the Candlestick State Park, and as always we had a great time. Although the outcome of the game was depressing. Maybe next weekend will be better.

We have season tickets to the San Francisco 49ers and tailgate with our motorhome every game. The parking at Candelstick Park for MH is $40, cars are $25. But it is well worth the convenience of having our refridgerator, food, utensiles and BBQ readily available. Also if it should rain, we have the convenience of a nice shelter against weather adversities. We usually wait at least an hour after the game to leave in our attempt to avoid traffic. Others bring their MH too for the same reasons.

RE: Ok, who is the oldest active RV'er here? Or maybe

when I am 80 my kids better not try to fight me out of doing what I want or there will be a fight . at 80 if I want a 40'dp or a tent I have earned thr right to make that decision with my money just my thoughts as I get closer to that age To BOB I am 50 yrs old and I whole heartedly agree with YOU!!!! As a side note: I would help anyone with the mundane task of hooking up if asked, so that they could continue doing the things(RVING) that keep them young.

I belong to Hub City Sams RV Club and two weeks ago we celebrated the Birthday of our oldest member 90 years old. He is a retired Trucker and sharp as a tack. He is an inspiration!!

RE: Jackson Rancheria, CA Thanksgiving Nov 26th-29th, 2008

What is the earliest date that we can arrive? Put us and the Lucas' down for that date. The earlier the better, we can start our Thanksgiving celebration. We are cooking an Italian Turkey and the Lucas' are bringing the Raviolis.

RE: Class A / Alcohol ?? for a CHP officer...

I have had the unfortunate experience of witnessing the aftermath of a sober driver and drunk passengers. The innocent driver and one of the passengers were killed, two others injured may i ask what affect the passengers being drunk had in this accident? seems to me when drunk drivers cause wrecks they are often spared injuries because of their state of relaxation. i am being serious, just curious. Thank you for asking. If my memory serves me correctly, (happened 10 yrs ago.)what happened in this particular case was that the driver was distracted by the behavior of one of the drunk passengers (who was loud and out of control, they were going to a sporting event). This was one of the severly injured passengers who survived. The driver when his eyes returned to the road, rear-ended a Tractor and rolled into a ditch (all of this occurred in a matter of seconds). The witness who provided the CHP with this information was the other survivor who was also injured. My understanding was that the driver's family was sued as well as the drunk passenger who assisted in the distraction of the driver. I do not know the outcome of the law suit.

RE: Class A / Alcohol ?? for a CHP officer...

I have had the unfortunate experience of witnessing the aftermath of a sober driver and drunk passengers. The innocent driver and one of the passengers were killed, two others injured. I understand what the law is here, but is anyone thinking of the unecessary risk that you would be taking having a number of drunk passengers in your motorhome when driving. Why can't you wait an hour or two until you get to your destination to begin the party? Is it that big of a deal to sacifice one or two hours? I know that those who have substance abuse issues have self control problems, but those who do not have these issues, why not wait? JMHO

RE: Jackson Rancheria, CA Thanksgiving Nov 26th-29th, 2008

I have spent this week @ the Jackson Rancheria RV Park, it was my first time despite living so close (40 miles). Very nice and I am looking forward to a Thanksgiving Celebration with all of you. Could you possibly add two more to the list? Jim and Anita Lucas for the same dates that we will be there.

RE: Boat Launching with a DP

I applaud those of you that have been successful, however not being one who relishes media attention, I would not chance it. I am sure it is beyond my skill level and too risky for me to attempt to learn.

RE: Class A / Alcohol ?? for a CHP officer...

I have said before on this subject, anyone who cannot wait until reaching their destination before having a drink, has bigger problems than getting a ticket. AMEN!!!

RE: Class A / Alcohol ?? for a CHP officer...

The vehicle codes that Othertonka referenced are correct. Just a piece of advice from someone who has witnessed the aftermaths of passengers heavily drinking, start the party @ your destination of arrival. It may save you from other problems that can occur. When you all arrive, the party bash can begin. JMHO

RE: 1999 Fleetwood Southwind 36T

We have a Southwind 1999 36Z. No mechanical problems with the engine what so ever so far and have 45,000 miles on it. We took a trip last January to Mexico (2400 miles round trip) and had no trouble. We got 8 miles to the gallon.

RE: Traffic Stop and Search of RV with no cause

Take a look at this pair of videos on why you should never willingly cooperate in situations like this: take the fifth The second video is by a LEO. The point is that laws are now so complex that you can easily break a law and never know it. It is literally impossible for anyone to keep up with the flood of state and federal laws. BK This definitely outlines and supports why the majority of the LEOs that have posted would not allow a search (not to mention the time delay and invasion of privacy issues).

A blow up spa. I have seen them on line, but never in person. It looked pretty nice.

RE: Drop down LCD mounts????

We had a 32in LCD TV installed with a ceiling mount in front of the old TV. We ordered the mount on-line from Costco. It was $99 and works well.

RE: Traffic Stop and Search of RV with no cause

I feel that had this officer encountered any LEOs, he would not have even asked to search their rig (Equal treatment for all under the law). Why do you think that might be? It would be interesting to find out if any LEO here has been approached and requested search of their rig. What makes this search unreasonable to me is the fact that he detained the OP for an 1.5 hours and damaged his property. This is unacceptable and should be subject to an Internal Affairs Investigation. Anyone who could condone this behavior needs it done to them.
